As quick instances edited unnaturally out of life, snapshots are most often used to remember and define a feeling, person, place, or time. Sometimes these personal photographs are so strangely perfect or unusual that they seem unreal and constructed. I am most interested in these moments, inspired by imbalance and created almost by accident, they are fragments of humor that trigger memory more so than define it. The more displaced images create the most interesting and fragmented narratives in a medium often used to capture a complete situation or story in one frame. This series provides a sequence that highlights the connections between every image through themes of displacement, cliché and hyper-reality.
